While some students swear never to read anything ever again (including a billboard) during the final year of undergraduate studies, others consider furthering their education. Not only do they pursue additional studies, but they also do so in a postgraduate hostel.
Postgraduate hostels are unconventional and relatively uncommon, but they do exist.
They are filled with a diverse range of people. Everyone is trying to manage demanding studies and adult responsibilities simultaneously. It’s like a small version of the real world.

1)Serious Students:
You hardly ever see some residents. They spend most of their time studying in labs or libraries. When they do show up, everyone’s surprised to see them.
2) Rich kids:
They are always active. They usually own a car, and lots of phones can be found in their apartment at night because that’s where people come to charge since they are the only ones that can afford fuel.
3) Wife Finders:
Some people see the hostel as a place to find a partner. They hang out in common rooms, plan get-togethers, and are always friendly. They hope to find someone special among their fellow students.
4) Gossip:
No matter how lowkey you think you are, your gist is never safe, because they always know what’s going on — whether it’s about who’s dating whom or other juicy details.
5) Egbon adugbo:
Only you, like 7 Master’s degrees- me I understand sha. Some people don’t want to leave because the rent is cheap and life is easy to manage. They aren’t ready to face the real life.
6) The Arguers:
Even though they are older, some postgraduates still struggle with problem-solving. They might argue about shared spaces, where to hang clothes, and similar issues.
7) Those people
While some are looking for someone to marry, these are looking for the right time at night to sneak into each other’s rooms.
Living in a postgrad hostel means experiencing many things. It’s a time of tough studying, personal growth, and making connections. From power outages to surprise parties, there’s always something happening. People often make friends and memories that last for years.
