As Nigeria, the giant of Africa and everyone’s dream country, turns 64, we look at some activities you can carry out on Independence Day to solidify your status as a true patriot.
(1) President’s speech:
What better way to start the day than listening to T-Pain talk to us live about where he’s taking us?
(2) Print the Anthem:
Since the government decided the way forward is to go back to our former national anthem, many people have not had enough time to learn it.
This is an opportunity to impart knowledge. Print the new anthem and share it with the people.
(3)Be Spiritual:
Fast and pray.
(4)Parades:
Around noon, there are always vans playing “The Land Is Green” from speakers, and celebrating. You can also join them.
(5)Slay:
The least you can do is wear green and white to celebrate the day. If you have a little “ment,” you could also paint yourself in those colours.
(6)Charity Work:
Putting a smile on someone’s face is always nice. You can take some money or food and share it with the needy.
(7) Buy Unity Fabric:
On the 17th of September 2024, the First Lady launched one cloth called the #OneNigeria/UnityFabric, which she described as a symbol of national unity.
I don’t know where they are selling it, but you can buy it for yourself, friends, colleagues, and everybody, so we can all become one.
(8) Pay Bonus:
If you are an employer, this one is for you—surprise your employees with something small.
As we celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, let’s embrace these activities to show our love and dedication to our nation.
