The 67th Annual Grammy Awards are underway at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with comedian Trevor Noah returning as host. The night has been nothing short of eventful, filled with historic wins and unforgettable performances.
One of the biggest moments of the night came from Tems (Temilade Openiyi), who made history by becoming the most awarded Nigerian artist in Grammy history. She secured her latest win in the Best African Music Performance category for her song Love Me Jeje, beating out Yemi Alade’s Tomorrow, Asake & Wizkid’s MMS, Chris Brown’s Sensational (featuring Davido & Lojay), and Burna Boy’s Higher.
Tems, who received three nominations at this year’s Grammys, now boasts a total of eight career nominations. In addition to her win, she was also nominated for Best Global Music Album (Born in the Wild) and Best R&B Song (Burning).
In another major win for Nigeria, Wizkid and BloodyCiv clinched the Best Reggae Album award for their contributions to BOB MARLEY: One Love. Both artists delivered full tracks on the album, earning them their first Grammy wins in this category.
