Rising Afro-fusion artist Dela is back with a powerful new single titled “Watch Over Me”, set to drop on August 13, 2025. The emotionally charged track marks a new chapter for the fast-rising artist, whose music continues to blur genre lines and touch hearts.
Since emerging on the scene in 2023, Dela has built a loyal fanbase with her distinct sound, poetic songwriting, and heartfelt performances. Her debut release, a two-pack titled “Dela” featuring “Solomon” and “Save Me”, earned over 1 million streams across platforms and secured her a place in the 2023 Music Business for Africa Talent Development Program. She went on to shine on the program’s collaborative album Pepple Street, featuring on six of its sixteen tracks.
Now, after the buzz from her EP Miosis, Dela is evolving once again. “Watch Over Me” blends Afrobeats and pop into a soulful love song that explores the vulnerability, chaos, and beauty of falling in love. It’s a sonic shift for the artist, the same voice and spirit, now deeper and more reflective.
“This song feels like a whispered prayer, to a lover, to a higher power, or even to myself. It’s raw, it’s intimate, and it’s the most honest I’ve ever been in my music,” says Dela.
