Sknny, the Nigerian-born, Port Harcourt-based Hip-Hop artist and producer, is acclaimed for his conscious lyrics and compelling storytelling, which often reflects his experiences as a Gen Z creative.
Growing up as the youngest of four hip-hop fanatic siblings, Sknny was strongly influenced from an early age. He began listening to hip-hop and writing rap at just 8 years old. His cousin motivated him to start making and dropping music professionally in December 2016.
Since then, he has built an impressive discography, highlighted by releases like the YnC (Young & Clueless) EP, which featured the popular track “Nomophobia,” and the recent “The Vibe Pack” single pack, which included the vulnerable “No Lie” and the upbeat “Vibing” featuring Tonee C.
Now, Sknny is back with his first release of 2024 – The Vibe Pack II – A Masquerade Party. This three-track single pack, created in collaboration with producer Gad Remie, showcases Sknny’s versatility as an artist.
The pack includes the confident and rhythmic afro-pop track “Like Me,” the emotionally charged groovy house record “Find U,” where Sknny sings about the pain of unrequited love, and the energetic rap anthem “Best Kept Secret,” where he reflects on his growth and readiness for what’s to come.
Signed to management company Black Federation, Sknny is working on a new EP titled ‘The World Is a Bully,’ centered around his anxiety struggles.
The Vibe Pack II—A Masquerade Party will be officially released on Wednesday, November 12, 2024, and it is sure to further cement Sknny’s status as one of the most promising musical talents in the new generation of African hip-hop.
